Competition form

All club teams are welcome to the Gold Coast International. The only reservation is that the association is registered with its country’s FIFA-affiliated football association. In the countries where school football is a form of competition, school teams that are affiliated to their country’s school sports federation are also allowed.

The competition begins with a group game. The teams are divided into groups of four to eight teams where everyone meets everyone in a single series. The two most placed teams in the group advance to the A-finals, the other teams in the group advance to the B-finals. FIFA’s rules apply in all applicable parts, otherwise according to the Football Australia Association’s rules. All players must be insured for games.

Number of teams in the tournament

In recent years, we have not been able to receive all teams that wanted to participate. The teams that have registered and paid the registration fee first have priority. Registration date is counted as the date we receive the registration fee. Keep in mind that most categories are usually fully subscribed long before the official registration period expires. When a class / category is fully subscribed, a waiting list is created.

When is the last day to register?

Registration closes on January 3. Note that there is a limit on the number of teams in the tournament, therefore a class / category can be filled before the last registration day. Waiting list is drawn up after registration day.
